Neighbors You Haven’t Seen All Winter: As the sun gets warmer and afternoons feel longer, more of us emerge from hibernation to once again enjoy outdoor exercise and the awakening of the natural world around us. “Trail friendships” can be as simple as a daily greeting as you pass by a familiar face. In a world fragmented by technology, personal connection, even only for a moment, is integral for our communities’ well-being. What’s Wet That Maybe Wasn’t: When those April showers come and the snow melts, be aware of rising river and stream levels. Flooding may affect trail conditions. Be ready for potentially slippery surfaces and unsure footing. Clogged Culverts and Downed Branches: Spring runoff and rain storms can result in debris that litters the Trail and affects managed drainage pathways.
